We’d like to inform you about two important updates that will take effect from July 1, 2025 — one related to WhatsApp API pricing by Meta and another concerning Mtalkz's platform subscription plans.
📬 WhatsApp API Pricing Update
Meta has announced a major shift in the WhatsApp Business API pricing model — moving from a per-conversation structure to a per-message billing system.
This update is designed to provide greater transparency and make it easier for businesses to manage costs based on actual message usage.
🔄 Key Changes:
Businesses will now be billed per template message sent, instead of the previous 24-hour conversation model.
This change applies to Marketing, Utility, and Authentication template messages.
Customer service messages (free-form responses) and utility templates sent within the active 24-hour customer support window remain free of charge.
🕐 Understanding the Customer Service Window
A 24-hour service window begins when a user messages your business.
Each new user message resets the window, allowing you to reply freely within the next 24 hours.
You can send free-form replies and utility templates during this window without any charges.
Utility messages sent outside this 24-hour window will now be billed according to standard pricing.
📌 Example Scenario:
Let’s say a customer sends you a message at 10:00 AM on Monday:
You respond at 10:05 AM with a free-form message → ✅ Free
The customer replies at 10:30 AM, resetting the window → ✅ New 24-hour window starts
You send an order status update at 11:15 AM using a utility template → ✅ Free
You send a marketing message at 4:00 PM → 💬 Charged per marketing template rate
You send another utility message at 5:00 PM → ✅ Free
You send a follow-up utility message at 11:40 AM on Tuesday (after 24-hour window ends) → ⚠️ Charged as per utility template pricing

Note: Pricing will now be based per message sent, but the rates remain the same as per the existing per-conversation category pricing for marketing, utility, and authentication templates.
